Operation Clean Sweep® is a program designed to help the plastics and logistics industries reduce the loss of plastic resin pellets from all parts of the plastics value-chain into the environment.

Globally, the reduction of pellet loss has been included in the Declaration of Solutions for Marine Litter to help industry’s role in addressing marine litter.

The program’s goal is to help every plastic resin pellet handling operation implement good housekeeping and pellet containment practices to work towards achieving zero pellet loss.

This not only has a positive outcome for the environment, but the program is also good for business through:

• contribution to preserving water quality and wildlife;
• compliance with state regulations and avoidance of fines;
• workplace safety/housekeeping program;

The Operation Clean Sweep® Australia program is free to join and easy to implement and can be incorporated into an ISO program. Program resources include a downloadable manual, editable checklists and metal placards for program partners’ workplaces.
